15-months of Emmy love

Emmy is 15-months old.  I can believe it and not believe it! I feel like she's always been with us but I also feel likes she is way too baby to be 15-months old.  The doctor asked me if I thought Emmy was at the same developmental stage as Cami was at this age.  I really, really couldn't answer.  I know that Emmy has a lot less hair, teeth (she only has 4!) and words than Cami did at this age.  But Emmy is way, way more active.  She's a climber, jumper, wrestler.  But she just is so petite, where Cami was well... a little bit of a solid, stalking thing.  Maybe that is why I see Emmy as baby or maybe she'll always just be my baby.   I say she is small but she is in the 98% for height and 70% for weight.

As I mentioned, she'll climb anything even YOU!  She only really eats breakfast and then just kind of picks at food.  Eggs where her favorite but now she just tosses them into the air like party confetti when I try to give them to her.  She likes Mac and Cheese but I think that is starting to become old to her as well.  She'll eat just about any fruit or veg but will NOT EAT MEAT.  When I told the doctor he said, "well she does only have 4 teeth" but even when its small bits the girl will spit it out.

She loves her piglet and sleeps with her every night.  (sidenote- I think piglets a girl and Scott says its a boy.  Who's right? ).  She also has a little bit of a crack cocaine problem that is also known as a pacifier.  I'm not really sure how to handle this but all I know is that I'm completely doing it wrong.  I try not to give it to her but sometimes I'm over stressed, over worked and just plain OVER IT so I give in and give it to her.  Cami never had one so I'm kind of at a loss.  I'm going to be "one of those parents" that has a 5-year old with a pacifier.

Emmy can also give you a fit like no other child I've ever seen.  She either ignores the word NO or is getting it confused with GO.  She see's red flames, electrical outlets, steep stairs, rabbit dog and she's like, "Heck ya I'm going to stick my finger in it".  So, she is keeping me on my toes!

Here is a picture of my little witch.  I love you and you are totally WORTH IT!

October

Again, my life in photo's!

This past weekend we went out to Boyd's Orchard.  Sunday was beautiful and I'm so thankful we were able to get outside. Scott said home to clean house so Angela, Tommie, Jenna and I took the girls out.

Cami has a great time on the pony ride.  She's a real cowgirl!

This little girl was EVERYWHERE.  She wanted to go on all the big kid slides, climbing things.  I think she liked the Tubes the best.  She looked like a little blue mouse in them.
Camille is sharing her carmel apple.  That was Emmys only bite.  No so smart momma giving a baby with 4 teeth a bite of carmel!
Jenna, our 19 year old niece, with Cami.  We don't get to see her much but she always entertains us when we do!

On Saturday morning we had Emmy's 1-year pictures schedule.  Yes, she is almost 15-months but that's just a side note.  We had to cancel due to weather so I took the girls to the store to find a Halloween outfit for Cami.  The girls rode the toy horse together 5 times in a row.  Emmy just clicked her little tongue at the horse the whole time.

Speaking of Emmy... she's sneaky!

Scott turned 34 (gulp) this month.  Happy Birthday!  For his Bday he wanted to go to the Cinni Museum State (or whatever it's called)  The kids had a blast!

Sampling Daddy's birthday cake.  Mint Choc chip icecream cake (sick) but they loved it!

Also, in Oct we had the Light the Night walk.  We walked in my dads memory and raise over $3000! I'm pretty proud of us and I know dad would be humbled by the amount of people who donated in his memory.  We love you dad and miss you every day!

And one last random shot of Camille and Emmy brushing their teeth this morning.  Getting these girls ready in the morning is a real blessing.  I just love that Scott leaves for work before these two Diva's wake up!

Camille

Camille is getting so big and full of spunk.  She is in pre-K 3 days a week at Daycare.  It's nice because the daycare has a pre-K program so the girls can still go to the same school.

Camille, for the most part, is a very good girl.  She has pretty good manners and is a very good listener with teachers and coaches.  We have our fits and sassy moments but who doesn't with a 4-year old girl.  We are kind of between this little girl/big girl stage.  Sometimes she is so independent and others so shy and scared.

I was walking with a friend of mine who has an older girl (9) the other day and she was telling me about playground stuff that is happening with her daughter.  I can't/dont want to do down this road.  I just want to live in our little bubble.  We are still into stuff animals, cartoons and just playing to play.   On Sunday, I had a lot of alone time with Camille.  We went and bought Halloween decorations and decorated the house.  (Mom did this for us and I've always remember it)  Then I took her to lunch and to play at a friends. When I asked her at bedtime her favorite part of the day she said, "Eating lunch with you mommy, your the best momma in the word - I love you sooo much.  And Emmy and Daddy too."  I know that little girl drama is on its way but for right now I'm just absorbing this time with her.

I feel like I need to get a Parenting 101 because I think the REALLY HARD stuff is just around the corner!  I need to know how to show her that being independent is awesome. How to have self-love and not be upset with the image GOD gave us.  How to be kind-hearted and have empathy. And the list goes on and on!!!

the last 30 days

I'm a month behind on what is really happening in real time and what makes the blog.

So, again here comes my life in pictures with captions~ enjoy!

Myrtle Beach Vacation August 2013
We drove to MB from KY.  10 hour drive.  This is what Emmy looked like pretty much the whole time.  Cami didn't sleep but maybe 2 hours the entire time.  She watched a couple of movies but mostly wanted to listen to her music and look out the window.  Oh, she also ate about 15 pounds of food while looking out that window.

This was Emmy's first time at the beach.  Linds bought her a sand box for her Bday a couple of weeks before so I had her get in it a couple of times before vacation to get use to sand.  Well, that really didn't help her.  She ate sand and rubbed it in her eyes pretty much the entire vacation.
Cami loved vacation. I had to force her on the beach in the morning until after lunch.  The hotel we stayed at had 4 huge water slides, countless pools, 4 lazy rivers, hot tubs, spray and bucket dumps. Plus the water was as warm as bath water.  I had to remind her we didn't have an ocean back home but she informed me we didn't have water slides at our pool.
The only picture on the beach together.  Yep folks, that is as good as it gets.
Cami fed the giant fish at Barefoot landing. She also had a little ice cream treat while there.

Emmy got the left over icecream cone from Scott.  She did not give it back.

Emmy and Cami are pretty good with each other.  Emmy is learning to fight back... I mean play with Cami.
We took the girls to Ripleys Aquarium.  They have a mermaid show and then you can take a picture with the mermaid.  Camille was spellbound and she said it was her most favorite part of vacation.  This is "Summer" and Cami wants to look EXACTLY like her for Halloween.
We also went to Brookgreen Gardens. Its a great place and we really enjoyed walking around the grounds.  I'm super happy we went in the morning and it was overcast because when we left it was HOT, HOT, HOT!
Being the best mom possible requires covering at least one of your children in sand....
and dressing the other up like a Sheik
Cami was so big on vacation.  She also got a hair wrap.  I'm not going to tell you what this cost me (gulp) or that she took it out two days later.  She loved it but hopefully never again!

And yes, Emmy got all 5 hairs on her head braided with beads.  This was not my idea nor did I know it was happening until it was done.

Emmy update-
When we got home mom had a little surprise for Emmy.  She put up a gate to keep my problem child from going up the stairs.  When she first saw it she found this tennis racket and just set there and hit it over and over again.  She cries anytime someone is on the other side.  But the little monkey has figured out how to hit it just perfect (one hard tap, then two fast taps) and can pop it open.

Also on vacation, SCOTT (it's always his fault) gave Emmy a paci.  She has never, ever, ever taken a paci.  Well, at 13-months guess who is addicted like its crack.  Yep!  So... I'm guilty too of giving it to her at night now.  But I foresee some serious fights in the future.

Camille update-

Cami is one busy chick.  She started Soccer this week.  She is serious about it and wants to be the best.  She is one of the youngest on the team so I've been practicing with her but hopefully she get better.  She also has gymnastics/dance on Thursdays.  She loves the dance part.  I find it VERY boring.  She is also going to Pre-K three days a week.  She likes being the big kid and wants a lunch box.  I'm starting to see signs of independence but she still is very much a mommy/daddy girl.  Scott and I are starting to look at her options for school next year.  Public or private.  I was hoping to redo my kitchen in a couple of years but if she goes into private it looks like I'll be waiting another.... 18 years!

Birthday and more summer fun

Scott and I went the weekend before Emmy turned one to Asheville.  It was great.  We spent two nights at the Inn at Biltmore and I very much loved it.  It was very much needed and we thank everyone who helped us out on our little weekend away.  Lindsay took the girls from Sat night until Tuesday.  I'm glad the girls got to spend time with her and the boys.
Emmy is a handful!  She is into everything.  You really really can't take your eyes off her for a second.   Emmy played hard at Lindsay pool and passed out COLD.
Emmy had a great birthday party.  Thanks for everyone who came and made her day so special.  She did a great job with her cake!!

We turned Emmy around in the car and tossed out all of her bottles.  Such a big girl our Emmy!

The Monday after Emmys birthday I took Cami to Kings Island with my mom, aunt, cousins etc.  It was Cami first time and she loved it.  She enjoyed her Smurf icecream (although its not called that anymore) and did all of the rides that she was tall enough to do.  I think Kings Island will be an annual trip and that is fine with me. I have a lot of great memories from KI and I hope the girls will have plenty as well!

Cami is starting Pre-K in a could of weeks.  We are behind on what she should know which makes me very sad.  I just want it to come natural but that is not going to be the case.  We have started working with her every night.  Sometimes its two steps forward one step back but we just have to keep on working with her and she'll get it.

She did this little video for my mom.  You'll see what I mean...

Happy 1st Birthday Emersyn

What? How are you a year old already?  Emersyn you are my heart and soul.  You have a laugh that is beyond the funniest thing I've ever heard. You smile and will reach out for anyone to hold you.  You are very much a "hip baby" meaning your favorite place to be is on someones hip. You also love to headbutt.  If you're mad and are sitting on the floor you headbutt it.  If you like something or someone you headbutt it.  Maybe I should get you a helmet for your birthday?

You can take steps and are a very good walker when you forget that you are walking.  The best part is when you take 4-5 steps, stop do 4-5 squats and then finish up your walking.  Whenever you get close to the person you are walking towards you dive for them like you couldnt possibly walk one more step.

You love to eat finger food!  You are not really into the sippy cup because you just want to drink out of a regular up like a big girl.  But slow down honey... let's not rush things.  Your my baby and I'm not ready for you to be a big girl.

About being a big girl you are so so long and skinny.  Although you weigh 22 pounds and I feel like you are as light as a feather.  Everything about you to me is small/baby.  I just look at you and think baby, baby, baby.  Sorry tuts, I think this will last until your 30s.

Happy Birthday my little lady.  I love you so very much!

Happy 4th or 15th of July!

Happy 4th of July!!  It's a little late but seriously I believe that if you are following this blog at all you'll just be happy that there is actually a post!

We went up to the cabin for the 4th.  It was a great time.  My friends Jenny and Hilary and Hil's family came up for the day. It was cloudy but thankful not raining like Kentucky. Chad set off fireworks and we only had one that went kind of crazy into the yard and had everyone diving for shelter.  Good times!!

On Saturday was the boat parade.  Chad took one for the team and took Gray and Cami.  No one else wanted to go but I think they had a good time.  Cami only dropped one flag in the lake so I consider it a Win!

Cami and Uncle Chad going to boat parade. Gray rode in a tube on the back.

I'm not sure if it was Friday or Saturday but it was raining so we took the girls into the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  Not a bad drive from the cabin.  Cami had a great time. Emmy did a lot of chilling in her stroller but she did get out to play for a little while in the baby area.

Cami at the Children's Museum Theater. We saw Tangled preformed.  It was a hour.  Emmy wasn't as entertained.  It was like wrestling an Alligator for a hour to keep her still.

On the way home we need a little snack.  Scott wanted White Castle (nasty) and he asked Cami if she wanted to try it.  Here she is taking her first bite of a slider.  Before she took a bite she said, "I'm not real sure about this."  She said it was good but didn't eat another bite.  I think she was just trying to make her dad happy.

So, the BEST THING EVER at the cabin is the Aqua Lily Pad.  Mom got this fun new toy at the Lake. It's so awesome.  You put it out on the lake and can walk on it, play king of the mountain, ride the waves, just lay on it (when the kids aren't around).  It holds up to 1300 pounds so everyone can get on it! It's so fun.  Thanks Mom!

Random Iphone pictures~

Emmy's first Mexican.  Yes, we have messy rice face.  Cami picked out these "beautiful" skirts at Sam's Club and wanted one for Emmy.  She LOVEs to match.  I hate it so it doesn't happy too often.

Emmy still love Pickles.  If you want to see a FIT just try to take her pickle away.  It's bad, oh so very bad!  My office had an outing at the Lexington Legends baseball game.  Cami played in the play area most of the time and did great hitting the ball.  And YES she doesn't have any shoes on at the ballpark.  Only due to bouncing houses near by so please stop judging!

Emmy is almost a year old!  I'm in the current stages of planning a party.  Not anywhere near the crazy planning for Cami first.  Sorry Emmy second child is no fun!  But with the first birthday comes the removal of the bottle. Emmy hasn't found a sippy cup that catches her interest so I'm a little worried.  This baby loves to get milk drunk and pass out on a bottle.

And finally, a picture of my sweet girl Cami.  She is challenging with her mood swings.  Maybe its a girl thing.  One moment her life is over the next she is being sweet and then she is being so very silly.  If this is a toddlers mood swings I don't know if I'll be able to handle the teen years!
