Dog food Christmas

Christmas was really special this year. After spending time with both of our families, we all got on my bed and had the best family time together. It is what Christmas is really all about.

I have lots of Christmas pictures to share, which I will soon, but I thought you would like to see what we did the majority of the time during our Christmas break.

She has been told at least 8-9 times not to do this. Plus, I smacked her hands. But as soon as you put her down in the living room and step away this is where you will find her.

Merry Christmas!!

This will be my last post for awhile because I plan to not even look at a computer until the 29th when I'm back in the office.

Last night Scott was "watching" Cami was I was loading the dish washer. I hear, "Camille"! I walk in to see that she has completely unwrapped a gift and is studying it. Then she proceeds to beat on it like its a drum. OH, this is NOT her gift!!

Merry Christmas to All!

2 children

I wasn't fibbing when I said that I've got two children! The little girl was having the time of her life. This is why she LOVES her dadda!

Monday, December 21, 2009

Life just got a little crazier!

Cami is on the move. She's not all the way crawling but the girl can get herself around and in TROUBLE!

Also, after going to the Dr. on Friday she is now being treated for RSV. They have to do a painful test up her nose to get a confirmed diagnoses so the Dr. said they would treat her the same so no need to do the test. (She has all of the signs.) Since RSV is so contagious we keep her home from the Bowman side family Christmas on Sat. We were looking forward to seeing Scott side of the family but Cami wasn't even 75% . Plus, baby Jude was going to be there and didn't want to put him at harms way.

Cami is now doing better but still having issues here and there. I'll post some pictures later of her fun time she had with daddy when momma was in the bathtub. I seriously have 2 children!!

$190 gets you nothing

FYI- I've already spent $190 in co-pays in two weeks to have my daughter STILL be ill. We have another $25 appointment today at 3:15 because she is coughing so hard that she is puking when she sleeps. Thus.. nothing is wrong with her I keep hearing. This is NOT a healthy child, something is wrong with her and I'm not going to wait 2 weeks for Tubes to magically make her healthy! (Sorry had to get that off my chest)

So, today we are likely to be getting a chest X-ray to make me a believer that nothing is wrong with her. Jeez!

Stage 3

We started Stage 3 food last night. Cami ate Veg. Beef Pilaf without a problem. She will eat anything you put in her mouth but she will NOT put anything in her mouth herself. She'll drink out of her sippy cup.. if you hold it. Will munch on puffs... if you put them in her mouth. This is a good thing when it comes to toys etc., but I'm starting to wonder if anything is wrong with her. She only wants to play with the food on her tray.

So, if anyone has any suggestions on how to get her to actually put food in her mouth, hold her sippy or her bottle for that matter please let me know.

pictures

So excited! Jessica Campbell sent me some pic on facebook that she took of Cami. I should have the CD by Sat. I can't wait. I thought I was not going to have any of the outside pictures but I think they are some of my favorite. If you have facebook you can view 17 pics that she posted on my page but her are a couple of snagged off her page.

Thank Jessica!

An hour and 20 minutes for this!

Seriously! I could not get her to shut her mouth. I'm hoping Jessica Campbell got some better shots at our house this weekend because this one is NOT going on the Christmas card!

I knew it!

I got the eggs out of the fridge and when I turned back around CRASH! I don't know how she didn't slice her foot off but thankfully we escaped unharmed. I can't say the same about the bottle of chile lime hot sauce.

Oh, and her tooth broke the gum line last night. So, if you stick your finger in her mouth, her little snapper turtle jaw will clamp down and you can feel the ridges of her tooth.

It was an exciting Thursday night at the Bowmans!

Happy Birthday Papaw! I stayed up and made his favorite gingersnap cookies last night. I love my dad with all of heart and am so happy is healthy, retired and taking life easy. XOXO

Finally a post

Sorry, things have been crazy at work and home.

Cami has been at the Drs. office more times then I can count for her ear infections. Tommie has been watching her most of this week because she is have "diaper" issues since she had to get 2 shots this week that are very strong to get rid of her infection since the 3 other meds we gave her didn't work. I'm sure daycare appreciates her staying home. Thanks Tommie!

Thanksgiving was great as always. I thought my turkey was so, so. Everyone always eats the sides so maybe next year I'll just roast up the breast only. We'll see.

I tried to create a slide show on i-movies like before but for some reason it wasn't working maybe if I have some extra time I'll try again tomorrow.

Happy Retirement Papaw

I forgot to mention that my dad retired a couple of weeks ago. We are all so excited for him... plus a little worried. My dad is an extremely hard worker and likes to have lots of projects going on. Linds and I were a little worried that he might get bored but so far so good. My mom has been keeping him busy with plenty of "honey do" and he joined a gym.

The above pictures are of this past weekend when we went to the cabin. Mom, Dad, Cooper, Cami and I went to Nashville, IN. We was a nice day and we strolled around the town and ate lunch together. Both Coop and Cami were very good.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Back from Reno

I got back from Reno on Tuesday around mid-night. I went into Cami's room and hugged her and kissed her sweet baby face. When I went to get her the next morning... may how my girl has grown. Her hair seemed a little darker and her hands are huge! She just put her hands on my face and smiled so big. It was the best feeling.

We head to the cabin this weekend to shut everything down for the winter. So, I will unpack and pack again for the weekend. Then I realize it's the week of Thanksgiving. I host thanksgiving so I've got TONS to do.

Here is so pics of little Miss last night after supper, and before and after bath time.

first day of work

Cami had to come with me to work today... for about a minute. Nana is taking her to get her flu shot although we don't think its going to happen. Nana and I think she has an ear infection. I've been pulling green goo out of her nose all weekend and we had a couple of tugs on the ear. No fever but I'll keep ya posted.

Ear infection -confirmed. I'm seeing tubes in our future. I had a major problem with ear infections so it looks like little miss is in the same boat. Dr. Waddles is going to be proactive with Cami so well see. Thank goodness she is pretty good with her ear infections. No fever or crying. She did get the flu shot because she wasn't running a fever.

I just want to post these Smiling pictures of Cami so that when her pictures come back from the photographer I can show her that Cami really does smile. That little rat didn't smile once on Sunday when we had pictures. Jessica Campbell, bless her, is coming over tomorrow night for another round of punishment. We are hoping to get at LEAST one smiling picture!

Southland Shout Out!

Just a quick shout out to my church, Southland Christian. Last week our pastor, John Weece, challenged us to pack 1,000,000 meals to feed hungry children around the world. The church asked for everyone to volunteer 2 hours of their time to help pack meal. If you felt like giving money to the cause great, if not that's fine to but they need our actual time to get this done. So, Scott and I put on our hair nets and packed meals after work for 2 hours last week. Our church packed 1,056,024 meals!

I'm happy to say that by giving our time we helped 5,000 children that are starving eat 1 meal a day. The same meal every day, 1 time a day for 1 year. (equals 1 cup of food a day) It sounds like so little but without this 1 meal they would not survive at all. The organization that Southland work with is called Save My Starving Children. It's a non-profit Christian organization. They are completely privately funded and do not work with any governments. Which means no government funding. It's pretty amazing what this organization has accomplished. Check them out online. http://www.fmsc.org/Page.aspx?pid=380

This link will take you to a video of what it looked like during one of the packing times.

Grr... Happy Halloween

Here is a couple of pictures I captured of Cami this morning in her Halloween outfit. She was extremely hard to leave today but she fit right in at school. I saw a bear, elephant and a pumpkin in her room before I left. Today was a very hard day to leave her at daycare.

This is what Cami does in the morning when I get ready for work.

18-months??

Not really sure what is going on with Little Miss Cami but she is starting to wear 18-month clothing. I took off her sleeper this morning... 18 months. I put on a pair of brown cords... 18 months. I bought her some clothes last night at old navy 12-18 months. She has pretty much missed the 6-9 month stage. I even bought a sweater dress last night hoping it would fit her because it was $5.99 plus 25% off but they only had 6-9 month. I put it on her and it looks like a long sweater. Doesn't even cover her diaper all the way.

We are going to do some car seat shopping this weekend. Cami is too long for her infant car seat so we have to find another Rear Facing car seat that can convert to a toddler seat when she turns one. Scott mom got us a infant-toddler seat for a shower gift but I guess I didn't realize that I needed two since I do drop off and he does pick up. Exciting stuff on the agenda for the weekend-huh. :)

Watch out for the Hot Sauce

If Cami is in her walker and you open up the fridge, 9 times out of 10 you'll see the above. She LOVES the bottom shelf where she can smack the bottles of hot sauce and they clink together. We have to move them up a shelf now because I'm nervous that she'll get some on her hands and into her eyes.

Cami also has her first ear infection. We noticed that she wasn't acting her usually happy self. Not crying etc just kind of blah. She was sneezing like crazy, eyes water and her nose is really stuffy. No fever or cough so I wasn't worried about the flu. I took her to see Dr. Waddles yesterday and low and behold she has a ear infection. Dr. Waddles tested her for the flu just in case but it came back negative. Dr. W said that its not uncommon to get an ear infection when they get head colds. So, we are now on our first medicine. Hopefully this will be the last.

FYI- This pic is for Lindsay who says she's never seen Cami sit on her own. She's been sitting on her own for awhile. She will set there and then usually falls over when she sees a toys she wants.

Updates

Cami had her 6 month appointment yesterday. She's actually 6.5 months but its hard to get schedules to match just perfectly. Anyway, little Miss is 19 pounds, 8oz. (94 percentile) She is 28.5 inches long. (99 percentile) Dr. Waddles thinks that she will start to even out now. She said that after 6 months that bigger babies tend to got flat for awhile since they grew so fast in the first 6 months. She then got her 6 month shots.. cried for maybe 5 seconds and then smiled at the nurse when she waved bye. Needless to say it was WAY better than her 4 month shots.

We decided to put our house on the market last night. Not totally in love with our agent. She didn't have anything nice to say about our house but I don't really care if she can get it sold quickly. I did tell Scott that I thought I would like her more when we actually were the buyers. I'm not looking forward to working 40 hours a week, having a 6 month old, a dog and a husband with a house on the market. I think this is a recipe for becoming strung out!

Girls Weekend

I had my annual Girls Weekend at the cabin this past weekend. I love spending time with these girls. I know that I only see them a couple of times a year but every time we get together it makes me miss them even more. All of them are special to me for their own individual reasons and I believe this weekend came at exactly the right time for me. Thanks girls for making the effort to get together this weekend. I hope you had as much fun as I did!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Today is Scott's 30th birthday. Cami, Hector and I are so lucky to have him in our lives. He's a great daddy that isn't afraid to make silly noises or roll around on the floor with Cami. And he really is good to me. He's a good man and I love him very much!

Below are pictures of this weekend. We went to the pumpkin patch, the Wilmore Festival and some general "chilling" at home pics. Scott bought Cami a new winter hat since its getting cold outside and she was doing some modeling. She was also posing in the buff. I think she's getting thinner???

Loving books

Hector had an ear infection. He's acts fine but the inside of his right ear is pretty nasty. We are hoping to get it cleaned up ourselves without another visit to the vet this year but we'll see. I guess someone has to pay for the vets light bills. :)

Cami discovered books last night. We have read to her before but last night she was really into it. We read and looked at books for 40 minutes. She really likes the book that has a page full of little white lab puppies.

She was also very into the foot book. She likes the page with the clown feet. She was babbling like she was reading the page. Very Cute.
I got this great picture of her sitting on Scott's belly right after we got home from daycare. She is such a happy baby. She was telling Scott about her day and what she did with her friends.

Poop happens

Yesterday I woke up to Scott screaming, its 7:40! I'm usually dropping Cami off at daycare at 7:40 so I jump out of bed and rush to Cami's room. Ok, she breathing... I rush around the house. Woke her up, toss on a diaper and clothes, feed her a bottle and am somehow out of the house by 8:05. (yes I have oily sleep hair but could care less) Since we are so late, Scott had a scheduled presentation at 7:00 am (strange that he didn't get a call at 7 asking where he was) so he had to reschedule it for later in the day. So, I know that I'm going to pick Cami up from daycare instead of Scott so I don't take the carrier in and pick her up. She's at the age where she kind of straddles the front of you when you carry her so I wrap her blanket around her and off we go to inside.

I'm rushing around and finally put Cami in her crib. All the while telling the daycare ladies about waking up late etc. As I'm about to leave one of Cami's teacher says, "What is all over your shirt?" I look down... it's baby poop! I go to Cami's crib and she has it all down her legs, on her outfit and socks, on her blanket and crib sheet! I just looked at the ladies and we all busted out laughing. What can you do? Thankfully, Laura at work had an extra exercise shirt so I set at my desk with a skirt and Jazzercise shirt on all day. Needless to say, it was a crappy way to start the morning. :)

Happy Birthday Momma!

Happy Birthday Mom.

I totally, 100% take you for granted. Your never ending love, support, and humor are something that I crave. You are always encouraging and never judge. I love that I can have adult conversations with you women to women but also that you don't forget that I'm your daughter. You take care of me in so many ways that I never want to know a world without you in it. I'm so proud that your my momma. Always remember that you are loved.

P.S. Cami wanted me to tell you that she loves her Nana and promises to give you a big, wet, slopping kiss the next time she sees you. Hector too. :)

Super Sucker

Scott brought home this electronic super nose sucker thing he found a Walmart. I told him that I thought it was an unnecessary baby item. Y'all got any of those laying around? Yea, so I thought this was going to be another one of those things but girl let me tell you what. I'm in LOVE. Cami kind of looks at me like "why the heck are you so obsessed with my nose, lady" but I can't help it. It just sucks and sucks and suck and all the yucky keeps coming out. It's really helped her breath better and I'm not sticking that ball thingy up her nose twenty five times. Just pop the electric one in and hold it there for however long I need it for. It also plays songs to distract them but I really haven't needed to play the music because she's got this curious look on her face the entire time and just sits there.

Having a garage sale at Angela's on Sat. if anyone wants to come and buy my junk!

My BFF

Cami has a new BFF. Someone at daycare you may ask... NO. One of my friends babies? No. It's the Huggies Lotion baby. Yea, that's right her BFF is a picture of a baby. She is so into this lotion bottle. I have to hand her the bottle when changing her diaper etc. because she cranks her neck back to look at the picture on the bottle and makes it very hard to diaper. She just smiles and talks to the Huggies baby. She can't get enough. I think it has something to do with the bottle being Yellow. I guess yellow is her favorite color because she's very attracted to anything or one with that color. Just some interesting tidbits about the developing personality of Miss Camille Madison Bowman. :)

Rollin

Sorry for my high voice. I was a little excited! Cami rolled over twice last night. I almost got the first one but missed it by about 5 second. I just got this one of the Flip camera as she likes to be alone when attempting to roll.

Daycare going great

Yesterday was Cami first day of daycare. It went great. When I left her she was like "you can go now momma." Then when I picked her up she was so busy playing that she looked up and went right back to her toy. It kind of pulled at my heart strings that she didn't miss me but I guess I would rather have it that way then her crying when I left.

Heading up to the cabin this weekend for labor day. Its going to be hard because I started my "official" diet yesterday. Yes, Cami is 5 months old but it has taken me awhile to get back in the saddle. So, what motivated you to start up you ask?? I got Cami's 5 month pictures back and I look at LEAST 6 months pregnant. Its awful but at least its got me motivated. I'm back logging my food and even did a workout video last night! So, my goal is to get back in my regular pants by Christmas. I'll keep you updated.

The above picture is one of the pictures Jessica Cambell took of Cami about 3 weeks ago. If you remember it wasn't a good day for Cami but somehow Jessica captured some really great shots.

WANTED:

Above Sunglasses need to be found. They are almost 3 1/2 years old. Please returned if found!

I have done an amazing job at keeping my sunglasses. I remember when I bought them my sister telling me that it was STUPID to buy glasses so expensive (Coach) but I feel in love and didn't pay her any attention. After not loosing them after 2 years I have come to the realization that if they are expensive you MAKE SURE you don't loose them. I now own a pair of Coach gloves for the same reason and am happy to report that they are still around after 1 season. Gloves are something that I never form an attachment to because I have an even worse history with gloves than I do glasses.

So, as I'm driving to work today and its way too sunny for my sleepy eyes and I reach for my glasses. As you guess, gone! Then I tried to remember the last time I had them. The above picture... VACATION. I'm hoping to find them because if I don't I'm going to go buy the exact same pair. If you divide it up over the time I've had them its only $5 a month. Would you pay $5 a month for sunglasses? See how the expense is totally justified.

Big Girl

This is Cami first time with cereal. We are getting better at getting it in her mouth

Cami went to the Dr. on Monday and got her 4-month check up and shots. (thanks mom for taking care of her that day) She weighed in at 16 lbs 15 oz and was 26 1/4 inches. She is in the 95 percentile in both area. Dr. Waddles asked several questions, all of which I nodded my head and said "Oh yes, she's been doing that for awhile." Then came the questions I was dreading... "Is she rolling yet?" "NO, she is not rolling," I replied with my head down. Dr. Waddles said it's not a big deal because bigger babies tend to do things slower. I nodded then came back with the "But she can stand with a little help." Here is what Cami was doing last week before her bedtime.

Problem Child #2

Cami needed some cuddling last night after her shots. She was a little grumpy but ended up going to bed by 8:15pm. So, I'm heading to bed because I'm exhausted from the weekend. I get settled and my "child number two" walks in complaining about his neck. After much begging I gave him a neck rub for a good 20 minutes. Ok, now its MY time. I get resettled and crack open SwimSuit by James Patterson. (FYI- I'm only 58 pages in and I'm scared!) I'm starting to get sleepy so I turn off the light and just snuggle into the perfect spot on my pillow with a thunderstorm off in the distance. This is going to be a good hard sleep, I can already tell. Then the shrill of Scott's cell phone goes off. The hospital is in panic mode because the electricity, boilers, chiller and other things that involve code talk are out. He spent the next hour talking to work... IN BED. Then he determined that he need to go in. I was in and out of sleep when he got home at 3:00 am. He thought it was a little warm in the house and turn down the air down. Between 3-4:30 I rolled Scott over at least 5 times because he was snoring SO bad. Then at 4:30 child #1 wakes up because she's cold and child #2 is just snoring away. Needless to say I got a triple shot skinny vanilla latte on the way to work.

demon baby

This can't be our little girl. That was the question Scott and I kept asking ourselves this weekend. Cami had herself some serious crying fits over the weekend. We could not find out what was wrong with her. Our baby doesn't cry. She may give you a little cry because she hunger or needs a diaper change but she doesn't cry just to cry. Well, it all started on Friday. I went to my monthly bunco game and Cami and Scott hung out at home. Scott tells me she cried for 4 hours. No food, diapering, or gas drops helped her. He said she finally gave up crying and went to bed. The next day we went to a family reunion. All was well and then we came home. She cried to cry for an hour. Ok, better than the day before. Now its Sunday and she has her pictures with Jessica Campbell Photography. She is a happy little girl all day and even starts her organic brown rice cereal. (that cereal was Scotts pick). But right before Jessica arrives the demon baby appeared. I'm hoping that Jessica can do some serious magic on her photo's because she was a mess. To the LEFT is a shot she got at the Bowman's farm on Sunday. It was so hot we were sweating our faces off. Thanks Jessica for putting up with us. Then we came home from the Bowmans and she wouldn't go to bed until 8:45pm. That's 45 minutes past her bedtime! After she was sleeping peacefully Scott and I just looked at each other. She gets her 4month shots today. I'm sure it's going to be a Lovely week.
