Another week please

Is it me or does everyone need another week before Christmas. I'm really excited about Christmas this year because of Cami. She knows Santa although I'm not sure she really gets that in 5 days all of those gifts under the tree can actually be unwrapped and that there is some good stuff.

Saturday we celebrated Christmas with Scott's dads side of the family. We don't see them much but I have really grown to love his family. They are all wonderful people that are very loving.

On Sunday we headed over to Nana and Papaw Wellers to have a day of first. If you can imagine we can still have some first left. Enjoy the pics!
On a whim I decided I couldn't take it anymore and went and got Cami's hair cut. Just a little snip so that her "curls" would still be there. She refused to wear the cap so we had to get a haircut in our Dora sweatshirt.
She got to watch Little Bear and sit in the pink car~bonus
To all the mothers out there the Cookie Cutters in Hamburg is dirty! I was warned but Cami NEEDED a haircut. She is 3 months away from being 2-years old and this is her first haircut.
So, after that nasty dirty place Cami had to be scrubbed down. She got to have her first bath in Nana & Papaws tub- with the jets. She loved the bubbles. And yes, I am the mother that lets her kid have water up to her chin if she wants.

After all of that we made Christmas Candy. Mom and I made buckeyes. Cami sat at the table and watched. Mom and I were talking away and dipping the PB balls in chocolate when I looked over and little miss was sneaking her first buckeye (minus the chocolate). She loved it.

Sweetness

This is a holiday card preview. I just think she looks so sweet in these pictures.

I started the tradition of the gingerbread house this year (thanks sams club for the pre-made kit) and it went over well. Cami, Scott and I sat at the table together and worked on the house. A couple of things to remember next year. Read directions first and decorate before putting together. (Hey, I'm new at this) Also, I want to let everyone know that the picture of Scott and Cami was the only 30 seconds that the two of them worked on the house. I had to do the rest but hopefully Cami will be more help next year. She does like to look at it and say Mommy's house.

Santa

Cami really does like Santa. She talks about him all the time. Lights up whenever she sees a Santa on TV. Says "ho, ho, ho" etc. So, I was thinking that we would get a good picture but not so much.

Never make plans

So, one can never really make plans as a momma. Cami got sick and I needed to stay home with her so I had to cancel my weekend plans. This past weekend I was planning on going to Indiana to see Kristen Morgan who is on bed rest at the hospital keeping baby Max safe inside until he is ready to make his grand appearance sometime in Jan. I really wanted to see Kristen and give her my support. She is a beautiful women and will make the very best mother. She has a calming quality to her that is a true gift. Max has given her and her husband trouble throughout this pregnancy but I told Kirsten that I have a feeling he is going to be a very chill baby and motherhood will be a breeze. I was also going to see the other "cabin girls" and just catch-up on life. Kristen Bixler has a new house I was dying to see, I wanted to see Hilarys son Augie to see how much he has grown and if Cami was keeping up with him. I always love seeing Jessica because she brings so much spunk to the party. Jenny Reeves ooops I mean Jenny Moore has more patience that anyone I've ever met in my life. And I really wanted to hear about Jenny Tsao upcoming wedding and to hear her laugh which is always infections. Speaking of infections....

On Friday the 3rd I had a little out patient surgery on my bladder. Remember all those problems with my bladder when I had Cami, well I finally went and got it fixed up. So, after the surgery (which is a story all on its own) I was put on meds so that I wouldn't get an infection. Well after about a week on meds and not feeling so great Saturday night was the last straw for Scott. As I was shaking like a wet dog left out in the rain with a cherry red rash all over my body at 3:00 am he said I'm taking you to the ER. I said No because I didn't want to wake up Cami and take her out in the cold. So, I went back to bed. On Sunday Scott woke up and said if you are still this bad when I get back your going to the hospital. So, needless to say I went to the ER. Its never good when you have a doctor, nurse practitioner, nurse and some other people staying outside your door talking about how "interesting" your symptoms are. Anyway, I was this rushed to St. Joe main ( I was at the little ER clinic in Jessamine Co). I was the hospital for 2 nights. They thought I might have an infections disease that I picked up during surgery but it has been determined that I'm just really allergic to Sulfa drugs. I would normally not write all of this out but I know that a lot of you have been worried (thank you for your texts) and wanted to give you the story so I don't have to tell it over and over. I have to meet with infections diseases tomorrow to see if anything "grew" in my blood samples but I'm confident I don't have an infections disease and lets hope not since I'm at work today. :)

A "Sick" Thanksgiving

We had a really nice Thanksgiving on Thursday. Both sides of our family came together. I think it says a lot that Scott and I can bring our parents and siblings together with their own families and still have a grand old time. This year Thanksgiving was a little louder with the addition of Lindsay's family and the laughing that came along with her two crazies!

Thanks Lindsay for snapping some photos! Not sure what Chad was thinking but he let Coop and Cami go outside without shoes on. They were cold and soaking wet so they need a hot bath.. together.

P.S. The "Sick" part of Thanksgiving was that Cami, Scott, David, Tommie and I all were sick over the weekend. Little Cooper is having some tummy issues now so hopefully that is the last of it!

Potty Time?

There has been a lot of talk about pee and poo at our house. My parents and Scotts mom have been telling me for months that Cami is ready to potty train. She will be 20 months on Saturday.. its 20 months right? Anyway, she doesn't like to have a wet diaper anymore. She will tell you that she has peed and will even go an get the diaper. I would say about 4 out of 7 mornings she wakes up dry. I talked to Dr. Waddles (yes thats her peds real name) about it and she said that if they are not taking her a daycare then we should try it until they get on board. I talked to Cami's teacher and she said that she wont go into the "2's" until May. So, I'm a little confused because this AM Cami woke up dry just like the morning before. So instead of putting a new diaper on her only to change a soaking diaper in a 1/2 hour I took Cami into the bathroom and after a "little talk" got her to sit on the potty. And guess what, if that girl didn't pee in her potty! She then went over an got TP and threw it in the toilet, shut the lid and flushed her potty all while it sang her a merry little song. So friends... I feel like I'm at a crossroads. To potty train or not to potty train that is the question.

We are still here

Well, I think this might be the longest time between posts in awhile but I'm back. Montreal was a great city I just wish I had more time to actually walk around the town. That would of helped with the 5 pounds I gained! So, what is new at the Bowmans?

We have pretty much given up on the highchair. She will eat her breakfast in it but other than that she wants to be in her booster. She also like to read the circulars at dinner when she eats.

We also have a new fun thing that we like to do with her head when she gets her picture taken. She says "See" and turns her head. She then wants to see the back of the camera immediately.

I'm also thinking I might need a new camera. I think the pictures are coming out fuzzy... or maybe I need glasses. (no comments Laura)

Passport

Have you tried to get a passport lately! Good grief! Well after 3 attempts at filling out an application. A FedEx to Madison County and so on and so forth I applied for my passport on Oct. 4th. I paid extra to have it rushed ($250 -hello) and I am happy to say that I received it today. This is a good thing considering I leave for Canada this Saturday. So, I'm all happy when I get my passport and then I see the picture. Now, I'm not one that is really all worried about my picture but this one takes the cake! I look like an Oompa Loompa! I'm so orange its unbelievable. Maybe this is why my sister has called me pumpkin head for as long as I can remember. I showed everyone from work and they promised that I didn't look like this in "real life."

Happy Fall

Hanging out with Nanna and Papaw.
At AppleWorks Orchard. If her "pebbles" would of been higher she would of made 3 feet!
Checking out the goat
Here first pony ride lasted 30 seconds. The horse took a "bathroom break" and she was off and not getting back on. I think she realized that it was a real pony.
Playing in the leaves at the cabin is FUN. This girl was outside the entire day and tossed about 200 walnuts into the lake. She could of done it all day.

New Dog in Town

Cami loves, loves, loves her Pluto. She sleeps with that little stuff animal every night and likes to drag him all over the house. But yesterday, the Bowman's gave Cami this new dog. She hasn't let it go since. I asked her if she was ready for "night night" last night and she said "No" of course but headed back to her bedroom without Pluto. I said, "don't you want Pluto." She said "No but I went and got him anyway. She ended up sleeping with Pluto last night but this morning after we finished getting dressed she grabbed the new dog. Hum... Pluto destiny to be determine.

Aquarium

Scott and Cami outside the Newport Aquarium in Northern KY
She was giving this little frog a kiss

Here she is checking out the snakes

She thought it was soo cool because one of the big pythons moved
I think they are checking out a turtle

After the aquarium we went to the Hofbrauhous. It's an awesome German brewery.

Boy, she was awful thirsty! Does anyone else think she looks like Elton John?

After the brewery, we went to have a scoop at Graeters. I think you can only find these ice cream shops in Ohio and Kentucky. I thought she was looking at the camera but she had other things on her mind. This is one satisfied customer. This was a great Saturday. Scott looked at me on the way home and said "I'm really happy." I think that was the best part of the day.

Week updates

Sorry for the lack in posts. I have been extremely busy with home and work.

Ok, so last Friday we took Cami to Boyds Orchard. It was fun. She really enjoyed the tunnels. Scott said she looks like a little gerbil, (such a sweet daddy) and then we were going to get a pumpkin but Cami went to the bathroom and well... I'm not changing a dirty diaper on a picnic table or port-a-potty so we went to Scott's parents who live down the road. We still have to get a pumpkin!

My dad and I went out to WEG on Thursday. It was a beautiful day in the bluegrass. We rode the bus out to the horsepark and we both said that we think it was our first time on public transportation.. at least in Lexington. WEG is a great experience but the best part was having alone time with my dad. We always have other people around or Cami gets all of the attention. It was good to be my dads girl for the day.

We are off to the aquarium on Saturday. Scott's birthday (I didn't post about it because he hates this blog) was Wednesday and he said he really wanted to take Cami to the aquarium for his birthday celebration. Sweet Daddy, huh?
